RHYTHM GUITAR LESSONS

Strumming the chords of a song can be as easy or as difficult as you want to make it. Obviously the more complex the strumming and chords are the more interest you'll add. You can play thousands of songs with simple chords and strum patterns. But, by adding more complexity those songs will sound even better.

Focus on keeping your strum hand moving down and up to the beat!

As the name infers, rhythm guitar is all about keeping the rhythm. It's always advisable to play to a metronome or backing track.

Perhaps the most important technique when strumming is to keep the strum hand moving up and down, whether you are hitting the strings or not. It's not as easy as it sounds, but with practice it will come. Down strums should be done on beat, up strums off beat.
